Position Overview: Wire Bender/Retainer Technician  
As a Wire Bender/Retainer Technician, you will play a key role in the fabrication of orthodontic appliances, such as retainers and mouthpieces. You will interpret prescriptions and doctor notes to ensure wires are bent accurately and to specifications.

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Receive models of patients' teeth along with the appliance order (prescription) from the doctor.  
  • Review and interpret prescriptions to understand the type of appliance required (typically orthodontic retainers) and any specific modifications requested by the doctor.  
  • Using small hand tools such as orthodontic pliers, perform precise wire bending work to create the framework for the orthodontic appliance based on the doctor’s specifications.  
  • Ensure accurate installation of wires onto the molds, following prescription details and doctor preferences.  
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to review the completed wirework for accuracy and make any necessary quality adjustments.  
  • Assist in additional tasks as needed to support the overall fabrication process.  
     
Qualifications and Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent  
  • Ability to read and interpret job orders and doctor specifications  (on-the-job training)
  • Strong attention to detail  
  • Great hand dexterity

Schedule:
Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 AM
